 Apples and other Citrus Fruit

Apart from brushing and flossing, having an apple a day can do wonders for teeth. The increased saliva flow helps in decreasing acidity in the mouth and cleans away the food debris.

Citrus fruits are the powerpacked source of Vitamin C. The acidic content in citric fruits will harm your teeth if you consume citus fruits in an excess manner. Hence it is better to take these fruits in a limited manner.

This stimulation of gums produces saliva which cleanses the mouth of food debris and anaerobic bacteria. Therefore, munching on carrots and celery is a great way to keep your teeth healthy. These foods have beta-carotene in them, which your body needs to create vitamin A. For teeth to be strong, gums should be strong first. Greens and Vegetables

Green leafy vegetables are some of the best foods for your teeth. Vegetables such as chard and cabbages are juicy and leafy and are loaded with many vitamins and minerals that is needed for a proper dental health. Some of the nutrients found in dark leafy vegetables are rich in Vitamin A and Vitamin C.  Spinach and Lettuce contains high amounts of magnesium, vitamins, calcium, beta carotene among others.

A regular intake of these fruits and vegetables keeps gum problems at bay and with proper brushing and flossing reduces the chance of oral diseases.
